Piara Waters Senior High School follows the Department of Education gazetted term dates each year. The term dates for 2025 are:

School Development Days 2025 (Pupil Free Days)

Staff Development Days (SDD) are important features of the schools’ calendar. These days are dedicated to progressing whole-school initiatives and enhancing staff efficacy. Teachers and allied professionals may be involved in analysing student data, preparing programs and developing professionally. Students do not attend school on these days.

Schools schedule six school development days during the school year to enable staff to work collaboratively to progress the school’s vision and strategic plans.

Students do not attend school on school development days. The following school development days have been endorsed by the school board for 2025.

Structure of the school day

Piara Waters Senior High School follows a five-session structure day throughout the school week. Each session is one-hour (60 minutes) in length to provide ample time for instruction. Home Group is a pastoral care session taking 20 minutes each day.

Please note that gates open 10 minutes before the start of day at 8:30 am.
